........Lake Erie Love! It’s an emotion that we all share.
As summer slips into Autumn along the lake front, we have the opportunity to reflect on the changing seasons and our amazing resource, Lake Erie.
We all know that Lake Erie is subject to fluctuating water levels, but did you know the following? Lake Erie is the fourth largest of the Great Lakes in surface area but it is the smallest in volume. Winds pushing the water from one end of the lake toward the other produce short term differences in water level, the
record being more than 16 feet. According to NOAA the water in Lake Erie replaces itself in only 2.7 years, which is notable considering that the water in Lake Superior takes 173 years!
